TOYBOX Monthly Visit at Frontenac School!
October 6, 2026
On October 6, 2026, TOYBOX visited Frontenac School to join the monthly family program again after a long summer break. We met children of various ages (from babies to preschoolers) to make stress balls with balloons and sand! TOYBOX activity cards were given to parents to encourage them to try letter, number, and wellness play at home every day.

Many interesting interactions took place throughout the activity. One parent wrote letters on the balloons to teach the alphabet using a child’s name; another parent helped a child count how many scoops of sand they used to fill their balloons. One child wanted to make a rainbow collection of stress balls and actively discussed with his parent how he could make the sizes different: “Will the balloon get bigger when it’s blown up and stays overnight to stretch?” Children’s eyes shone as they thought about how to make their stress balls more special.

It was great to see how children had their own unique ways of making learning moments special.
One child brought a toy alligator to give it a sand bath; some began to play a throw-and-catch game with me. Babies even put their ‘goldfish’ crackers in the sand to enjoy their sensory experience. While letters and numbers were encouraged through playful interactions, I am sure children’s wellness was enriched with smiles and laughter.

TOYBOX is looking forward to the next visit in November with more meaningful play-based learning activities. Thank you for the warm welcome, Frontenac School!
