TOYBOX at Teulon’s Pumpkin Festival

Over the weekend, TOYBOX travelled to Teulon, Manitoba to attend their annual pumpkin festival! We set up a table under the kids tent and provided an activity as well as information about TOYBOX.

At our table, we set up supplies for kids to come make stress balls. As they made them, they could also learn about some of the grains grown in Manitoba, like soybeans, wheat, canola, and corn.

We provided handouts on how to support learning through this fun activity. Kids could develop numeracy skills by guessing how many scoops of grain would be needed to fill the balloon and increase wellness by using the finished ball to get out stress. We also gave parents information about what the TOYBOX program is and how they can access its resources.

It was a very fun event, and we were so happy to be a part of it!
