From August 11th to 13th, the TOYBOX team visited various locations across Manitoba to film new activity videos and reels! These videos will support parents and educators by presenting TOYBOX activities in a more lively and engaging format. Litty and Nume, our beloved mascots, were thrilled to step into their roles as actors and show how early literacy and numeracy learning can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime!

The first day took place at The University of Winnipeg campus, the home base of the TOYBOX project. We visited UWSA Daycare to share fun TOYBOX activities with children, including making stress balls, soaps, and bubbles. We also visited the RecPlex building, where we met and filmed with the University of Winnipeg mascot, Wes Lee Coyote!

The second day was filled with visits to many places throughout Downtown Winnipeg. We explored a number of interesting locations to film TOYBOX early learning activities (literacy, numeracy, and wellness), leaving memorable experiences in the community.

The third day featured other exciting places in Manitoba, including Canada’s longitudinal centre and Kildonan Park. The giant bench became Litty’s perfect fit, and Numeracy Street was Nume’s absolute favourite! Travelling to so many remarkable places made Litty and Nume even more excited to share the activity videos with many families and friends.

We sincerely thank all the community members who warmly supported us throughout our filming days. Your kind support made filming days truly special and meaningful. We look forward to sharing our new videos on our website and social media in the near future. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
