Prairie Undergraduate Research Conference

The University of Winnipeg Psychology Department, Treaty 1 Territory

April 25, 2024

ToyBox team members had the great opportunity to share their research on "Literacy and Numeracy Learning Outcomes in Early Childhood Education Centres". The team shared the purpose of the ToyBox project and discussed the intervention used for this study and the educational significance. Conference attendees explored various psychology focuses and networked with students, researchers, and faculty. The day consisted of spoken presentations, a poster exhibit, and a keynote address.

Camryn's Reflection

This conference was a great introduction into the world of presenting research for me!

I had so much fun informing fellow students and faculty members about the ToyBox project, as well as learning about other psychology research that is going on at the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba!

This experience has allowed me to further appreciate the benefits of being on a team that consists of people with many different educational backgrounds and future focuses.

Wynonna's Reflection

How exciting! After all the work that we have put into this I am pleased with how things turned out!

Going from the study itself and then turning it into something we could share with others challenged me to put into practice what we learned from our Presentation Skills Workshops (Check out our blog post about it!).

I am also really happy to have worked on this with such an amazing group of people. The ToyBox team was supportive, encouraging, and has helped me grow so much.
