I started at ToyBox in the summer of 2023 through the Winnipeg Foundation’s summer internship program that I joined as a part of my high school’s Youth in Philanthropy club. Over the summer months, I helped in various areas including activity research/writing, journal entries, data entry and I wrote a children’s picture book on the topic of water safety with a beach theme that incorporated aspects of literacy, numeracy and wellness. As a part of the ToyBox team I learned so much about the nonprofit sector and early years education. I am now studying in the Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba.
