On October 15th, TOYBOX took a road trip to Rouseau River Anishinabe First Nation to visit the Head Start Program.

We got a chance to talk about the TOYBOX project with the educators and members of the Head Start program. This involved how to bring TOYBOX to life within the program and our previous visits to other Head Start Programs around Manitoba. The discussion started by introducing the importance of play during learning and finding the perfect learning zone between child and caregiver to encourage further learning. We also distributed some TOYBOX playing cards and our latest animal activity packages!
The kids were very welcoming to TOYBOX and our team members— allowing us to join their playtime and have some fun, playing and learning. This was the most special moment of our visit! It was very fun to play and learn alongside the kids!

Special thanks to the Head Start team for welcoming us with open arms and for touring us around the community building allowing us to meet and connect with various members of their community!
