Beginner
Print letters together using chalk, a stick, or a wet paintbrush.
Tip: Name the letters and their sounds as you go.

Intermediate
Draw pictures with chalk or paint and write simple words to match the drawings
Tip: For a drawing of a dog, practice writing “dog,” “woof,” etc.

Experienced
Draw pictures with chalk or paint and write in sentences to tell the story of the pictures.
Tip: Tell the finished story at the end by reading each sentence, out loud, together.
