Home Is Where the Art Is
Connecting with Your Heritage Through Art.

Goal

Connect with others, even strangers, with whom you share culture and heritage through art. Look online, at a local cultural centre, or a library for artists who are from your community or share your heritage. Talk about what makes their art unique, what they chose to show, and what materials they used. After your discussion, create your own piece in their style.

Why is this important?

Viewing and making art in a meaningful experience helps children explore ways of expression, their own aesthetic preferences, and improves their cognitive abilities.
