Let's Sort
Can you Sort and Organize?
Beginner
Choose any objects or clothing and sort them by colour or shape.
Tip: Sort weather appropriate clothing, socks out of the dryer, toys, recycling, or items in your junk drawer!
Intermediate
Explain the purpose of everyday objects, and show where they belong in your home.
Tip: Try sorting clothing items by what type of weather they are used for. Sort groceries and laundry, putting them in their proper place.
Experienced
Encourage your child to make up their own sorting rules for objects, or clothing, found around your home.
Tip: Sort by colour, size, shape, purpose, or even preference.

Why is this important?
Sorting helps children develop knowledge of space, size, and patterns, as well as improves organizational skills.
