Fun With Measuring
 How Much Is Too Much?

Beginner

While playing with water, pour it into different measuring containers (cups, bowls, plastic Tupperware).

Tip: Use words like: more, less, the same, empty, and full to explain and compare the water and cups you are using.

Intermediate

While playing with water, use different measuring containers to compare three or more containers and discuss which holds more, less, or the same water.

Tip: Does the shape make a difference in how much water it will hold (will the tall container hold the same amount as the wide container)?

Experienced

While playing with water, use 3 or more different sized containers and together take turns guessing which holds more, less, or the same amount of water.

Tip: Determine the answer using measuring cups.
